Recently, the first phase of the distributed photovoltaic project at "Carbon 12th Lane" – the pilot zone of the Yangtze River Delta (Kunshan) International Low-Carbon Industrial Innovation Park – successfully achieved grid connection. This project was invested in and constructed by Lei Shing Hong Energy.
As one of only 16 nationally certified zero-carbon building projects and the only retrofit project in the Yangtze River Delta region to receive pre-design zero-carbon building certification, Carbon 12th Lane has garnered significant attention since its launch. The project holds multiple prestigious domestic and international sustainability accreditations, including China's “Three-Star Green Building Rating”, “LEED Platinum”, and “BREEAM Excellent”, demonstrating its high standards in construction and operation.
To achieve multi-dimensional energy reduction and low-carbon operations, Carbon 12th Lane incorporates 12 advanced energy-saving and carbon-reduction technologies. These include Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), comprehensive energy storage systems, and intelligent energy-efficient lighting. Upon completion of Phase 1, the project is expected to generate 2.1 GWh of electricity annually, reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 1,050 tons per year.
To seamlessly integrate with Carbon 12th Lane's distinctive architectural aesthetics, Lei Shing Hong Energy custom-developed deep-black photovoltaic modules. During implementation, the team overcame multiple technical challenges, including irregular PV array layouts, multi-trade coordination, and high-altitude installations. Through efficient collaboration and dedication, all construction tasks were completed on schedule with high quality, enabling successful grid connection.
This milestone marks Lei Shing Hong Energy's significant progress in developing low-carbon parks. Carbon 12th Lane not only accelerates the establishment of an integrated innovation platform for low-carbon technology R&D, industrial incubation, and achievement showcasing, but also provides valuable pioneering experience for state-owned systems exploring the "PV + Industrial Park" development model.
